Font Coffee Bar in Fonthill brings artisanal coffee brewed by talented baristas to the Niagara Region.
I am always excited to see more great coffee being brewed-up in the Niagara Region. Just like the local wines and artisanal products available here, I anticipate the day when Niagara is also known for its coffee.
The joy that comes from sipping a barista-made espresso is unmatched by the caffeine hit that is sloshed into my to-go cup in the morning. I don’t think they can even be classed as the same beverage. It’s for this reason that I was very happy to see Font Coffee Bar pop up in Fonthill early this year.
You won’t find a huge food menu here. The focus is on serving great coffee, along with a few tasty treats, in eye-pleasing surrounds. In fact, they have recruited the skills of Toronto architecture firm thesearchitects to create a hip, modern interior that is minimalist and cozy all at once.
Polished cement floors and dark walls are balanced with blond timbers, white ceilings, and lots of bucket lights. The decorative wood paneling and local artwork, along with a soft oversized wing chair and sofa, warm up the space.
My espresso beverage of choice is almost always a Flat White for it’s ideal proportions of coffee to milk. However, I find well-crafted Flat Whites few and far between. Font Coffee Bar’s Flat White did not disappoint. In fact, I am definitely adding it to my list of great places to grab a Flat White Espresso in the Niagara Region.
