Tuesday nights in summer mean food truck feasts with friends in the park, live music, and fun for the kids. Port Dalhousie Supper Market is how you make a weekday feel like the weekend.
Organised by one of my favourite brewpubs, Silversmith, Port Dalhousie’s Tuesday night Supper Market is a winner.
Port Dalhousie’s picturesque waterfront sets the scene for an alfresco dinner provided by a selection of Niagara’s top food trucks.
In the heat of summer, I am grateful for the cool breeze that whips off the water. We throw down a picnic rug to kick back with a refreshing local Ironwood Sour Cherry Cider, the kids run around on the expansive lawn, and we all groove to the live acoustic music.
Some of my favourite food trucks are onsite, like the adorable Yellow Pear Kitchen which serves delicious farm-to-table cuisine, and Schnitzel & Strudels which serves … well, you guessed it!
We eventually decide however, that it’s a pizza-in-the-park kind of night and grab an authentic woodfired pizza from Avella’s food truck. It’s easy “hand food” to manage while sitting on the grass, and goes great with a cider or Silversmith beer.
One of the best things about the Port Dalhousie Supper Market is its proximity to the recently redone kids’ play area. Dining out with kids can often be a struggle, but when there is somewhere for them to run and play it makes the night more enjoyable for everyone.
Plus, with the beautiful view of the lake, this is exactly where I want to be on a warm summer evening.
