Plan B Brewery & Lounge focus simply on making good beer. This micro-operation (and I mean micro – check out the beer tanks to your right as you walk in the front door!) has an ever rotating tap list of beers brewed onsite as well as bottles for take out. That’s about it!
You can bring your own food here (maybe grab a pizza from Bella Noella’s across the street), play some board games, and kick back with a brew. It’s akin to hanging at your friend’s place… if your friend was a really good brewer.
We found ourselves here for the first time after catching a flick at The Film House. It turned out to be the perfect location to unwind and chat about the intense film we had just seen.
Over a game of Crokinole my Chief Researcher sampled the Ol Canal Cream Ale, an easy drinking, crisp beer with hints of corn and floral notes; Off Cell IPA, which is full of tropical fruit flavours and grapefruit; and Sierra Niagara, an American Pale Ale that is a touch sweet with caramel flavours up front rounded out with hints of grapefruit. All good, and leaving him wanting more (which if it weren’t already late on a “school night” he would have been all too happy to do).
If you love trying tasty local brews and chilling, hit up Plan B Brewery in downtown.
