10 things to do this weekend in St Catharines and the Niagara Region (25 August 2017)

Friday 25 August

7 pm to 10 pm  Tuck into wood-fired pizzas made with fresh produce from Ravine’s own garden and listen to live music on the patio at Ravine while you soak-up sunset views of the vines. This is the perfect way to kick-start your weekend.

6:30 pm or 9:00 pm Take in a movie and enjoy a local Niagara wine at the First Ontario Performing Arts Film House. There are two screenings this Friday evening: Beatriz at Dinner and The Little Hours. Check out times and tickets on their website.

Saturday 26 August

6 am to 2 pm Sleep in, skip breakfast and hit up the Eh Jose food truck for some tasty huevos rancheros at the St Catharines Farmers Market. You can also stock up on the best local produce to make your favorite weekend meals. 11 am to 11:30 am If you are entertaining little ones stop in at the Catharines Library downtown for story time.

Lunch or Dinner Saturday is your last chance to take advantage of Downtown D’lish. Enjoy a three-course fixed-price meal at participating restaurants in downtown St Catharines.

7 pm Make the most of the last weeks of summer at the Alley Beach Bar & Grog House in Port Dalhousie. This quirky little open air patio bar has one of the most extensive selections of Ontario craft beers I have seen. Live music will be served up by Jesse Stull, and the vibes are strictly vacation.

Sunday 27th

11 am to 6 pm Go treasure hunting at The Market at Warehouse. This flea-market style event will feature local collectors of music, clothing, vintage goods and more! Vendors include Friday’s Child, Oxford & Oak, Pocket Change, keepgood co. and Naaber.


12 pm to 8 pm If you’re a food truck fan then the Tasty Trucks Festival is the ideal spot for lunch or dinner or anything in-between. There will also be live music and entertainment for the kids.

1 pm to 3 pm Take your kids to see the latest exhibition and then get creative in the Art Studio at the Niagara Pumphouse Family Drop-in Art Studio.  

7:30 pm to 10:30 pm Grab an Oast House brew and some tasty food by The Tide & Vine Oyster Co while you savor the last of the weekend on the Oast House Patio in the vines. Folk-country singer Spencer Burton, a former City and Colour collaborator, kicks off his tour on the Federal stage. Grab your tickets on their website.
